On your doorstep

…so what do you want to do today?

Ace Grace Place is situated right next to Filey on the North Yorkshire Coast, which is a a great base for exploring everything Yorkshire has to offer!

The Beach!

The beach is absolutely fantastic. Over 6 miles of pristine sand! You can walk to Filey to the North, and Reighton to the south. Dog’s are allowed off the lead all year round and it’s so big it never gets packed! The sea is inviting and there are always water sports going on. We always create pictures made out of stones and pebbles in memory of our Gracie – what can you come up with? XOXOX

Scarborough

We love Scarborough, there is so much to pack into a visit there that you usually end up coming at least twice! Take your pick from epic crashing waves, crabbing, funfair, fish and chips, great walks, fishing, water park, the historic castle and fort, loads of arcades or just pitch up on the beach, build castles and ride on the donkeys. Wow!

Bempton Cliffs

A bird lover’s haven, this is one of the UK’s biggest nesting site for a variety of seabirds. In the spring, the whole area is covered with birds, and chicks, including Puffins, Kittiwakes, Gannets and Fulmars to name but a few.

Walk along the cliff tops to several different viewing platforms where you can get a great view of the cliff face. The volunteers will be more than happy to tell you all about the different birds and their habitat. You can rent binoculars for a small fee, and they are perfect to see the chicks in the nesting sites on the cliffs!

Bempton Cliffs is run by the brilliant RSPB it is free to visit, with an option to make a donation to the charity. There is also a lovely cafe serving scrumptious cakes. Highly recommended!!

Sewerby Hall and Gardens

A fantastic day out near Bridlington. Visit the historic 19th Century stately home to see what life was like in Edwardian Britain and explore the many different gardens, and activity playground. There is a lovely little zoo here, where you can see the pigs, ponies and some alpacas! There is a large variety of exotic birds there too. You must go and have a chat with the Parrot! If you have time, you can also catch the land train across to Bridlington the seafront and visit the fair and harbour!

Golf

The area around Filey is blessed with many great golf courses. There are two in Scarborough, one in Bridlington and one in Filey itself. All have great views of the coastline and sea and offer fair tests of golf over a variety of parkland and links terrain. Four of the best are shown in the pictures below, and you can click the picture to go through the golf course website to book a round!
